The Ramzi Halabi Memorial Scholarship
Nick Halabi, co-owner of Nick’s Lounge, lost his brother Ramzi Halabi when he suddenly passed away in October of 2020. Due to Covid-19, he was unable to return to Lebanon to attend the funeral and grieve with his family.
Ramzi was born in Yanta, Lebanon on March 22nd, 1971. He was a beloved father, husband, brother, son, uncle and friend. He was an active member of his community. As the leader of a local Boys and Girls’ club for 25+ years and a teacher, Ramzi was a natural mentor.
To honour his brother, Nick’s Lounge has created the Ramzi Halabi Memorial Scholarship. This $500 award will be granted to a high-school student who wishes to pursue business or entrepreneurship in their post-secondary studies.
Nick’s Lounge, was founded by Nick Halabi and Nick Kamaleddine in 2018. Both entrepreneurs have been in the restaurant industry for 20+ years. They are wanting to provide an opportunity for a local student to pursue their dreams of one day starting their own business.
We thank all the local students participating in this scholarship, in honour of a great man who lost his life too soon. We look forward to providing this scholarship to the Lakeland.
